Laurie Steczo-Ebert, owner of Artistic Touches first began her decorating career in January of 1990 when our parent company, Quality Decorating Services, was formed. We began with just doing straight painting jobs in the south suburbs of Chicago. But before long we added drywall repair work, wood trim installation and some light remodeling.

Soon after we became the preferred contractor for a large parking garage company in Chicago. There we continue to paint the walls and ceilings of many parking garages, spraying many hundreds of gallons of paint.



 

While servicing the parking garages we began to add more decorating services for our residential clientele such as: installation of ceramic tile, electrical work, plumbing, custom draperies and carpeting. We also saw the need to assist our clients in choosing the right colors and products to bring 'color harmony' to their entire home. This is when Laurie saw the importance of being fully trained color theory.

At that time we began to see the large impact that both faux and decorative painting was having on the industry. We began to search for information on products and techniques. After careful research our team members began their schooling. So we can proudly say that our artisans have been professionally trained and certified at the "The Chicago Institute of Fine Finishes" in Carol Stream, IL, under the direction of Kathy Carroll. Additionally, Laurie has been privately trained in Venetian Plaster applications by the world renowned Italian plasterer, Pierre Picard.

This is when “Artistic Touches” was born, enabling us to show our specialized services in the Faux Finishing industry. We now offer a full line of professional faux finishing products which are both quite affordable and absolutely gorgeous. Most of the products that we use are either white, light gray or clear in color, therefore our talented staff will custom color match and/or harmonize your finishes with the colors that you already have in your room. We believe that the faux finishes you choose should never dominate the space, but enhance what you already have in the room. Almost all of the products we use are developed right here in the United States.
